We are excited to announce the formation of the Nesma-Al Moayyed Unincorporated Joint Venture, a partnership that unites two leading industry players to deliver exceptional solutions in fit-outs, ducting, and MEP systems. The unincorporated (JV) agreement was signed on May 29, 2024, by Mr. Naif Alabeedi, Deputy CEO of NUI, and Mrs. Hala Almoayyed, Executive Director of Almoayyed Contracting Group.

This collaboration marks a significant milestone for both of our organizations as we join forces to excel in fit-out ducting and MEP systems. Together, we are committed to contributing to the Vision 2030 objectives and to combining resources effectively and delivering best-in-class solutions while adhering to the governance expectations of our shareholders.

NUI has garnered a one-year contract from Aramco Aviation to provide corrective maintenance at 13 airstrips for airfield ground lighting systems (AGL), instrument landing systems (ILS) and weather stations. Of the 13 airstrips, eight are at remote and five at non- remote sites. The project also involves the supply of spare parts, installation, design support, along with testing and commissioning services for AGL and ILS upgrades that the client may request additionally during the contract period. Non-remote sites include KFIA Aramco Apron & Taxiway, Ras Tanura Airstrip, Udhaliyah, Abqaiq and several helipads in the Eastern Province. Remote sites include Tanajib, Shaybah, Haradh, Khurais, Hawtah in addition to Pump Stations 3, 6 and 10. The contract will be implemented by NUI’s Aviation Services Department which completed an upgrade of the AGL system at Hawtah Airstrip last year.

NUI has a long standing relationship with ADB Safegate, a leader in airfield solutions, and together NUI and ADB have been providing similar niche airfield related services to key clients in KSA such as Royal Saudi Air Forces and SANG. These aviation related services are being offered under the company’s Industrial & Ventures Division.

Nesma United Industries has been awarded a SAR 39M EPC communications and digital infrastructure project at Sheybarah South Hotel #10 on Sheybarah Island in the Red Sea. The hotel consists of 73 villas constructed in pods, each affording a unique ocean and reef experience. 

The scope of work includes communications networks, audio visual, WIFI, CCTV and digital security installation. The 13-month contract, expected to finish in October, 2024 offers unique challenges due to the one-hour ferry time required to reach the island in order to bring workers and materials.

Nesma United Industries’ Technical Systems Division (TSD) will implement multiple, recently-awarded EPC contracts for security systems.

SABIC awarded TSD with three of the contracts covering nine sites at Saudi Kayan, United, GAS Jubail, Al Razi, Ibn Sina, Ibn Zahr, GAS Yanbu, SAB Tank and Yanpet for a total contract value of SAR 445 million.

The scope of work comprises engineering, procurement, construction, testing and commissioning to bring existing security and non-security systems into compliance with HCIS SEC and applicable SAF 2017 directives. The work covers buildings, gatehouses, security control rooms, fences, lights, telecommunication, electrical, access roads and utilities the project kick-off meeting was held on June 19th & 20th at the Movenpick in Al Khobar.

The 18-hole golf course project, located on beautiful Sindalah island, was begun in mid-2021 and completed in fewer than 14 months. The project recently became the first asset to be completed and handed over to NEOM.

Moreover, in competition with all other NEOM projects, it won the Quality Platinum Award for 2022 bestowed by ETSD, a third party employed by NEOM to oversee quality in NEOM projects.

Nesma United Industries Co. has been awarded the King Salman Park Nursery project which will be the cornerstone for King Salman Park in the center of Riyadh. It will serve as an acclimatization nursery helping plants to survive Riyadh’s climate and will contribute towards the Green Saudi Vision 2030.

The nursery is being designed and built by Nesma United Industries’ landscaping division using the latest innovations in landscaping to act as the essence of King Salman Park and beautifying the city for generations to come.

Nesma United Industries, formerly Nesma Trading, is training more than 45 newly joined employees to be certified safety officers and obtain (Kawader ) certification via a 9-month course provided by Nesma High Training Institute.

In other news from NUI, the company is taking several measures to be diligent about COVID-19 prevention. At the Zahid Business Park project, a record of daily health surveillance is made at the main site entrance and includes monitoring the temperatures of all who pass the gate.

The HSE team also regularly sanitizes offices and labor camp accommodations along with fully sanitizing all buses.

Nesma United Industries has been awarded another large project, this time in NEOM, and as a subcontract to Nesma & Partners.

The Sindalah Island Golf Course project, valued at SAR 153 million, is due to be completed by March 2022.

The scope of work encompasses construction of an 18-hole golf course and corresponding irrigation system.

NEOM, the brainchild of Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, is a planned tourist destination and futuristic city where sustainability meets the future of urban living, science and technology.

NEOM is located in the Tabuk region in the northwest corner of Saudi Arabia.

Nesma United Industries, or NUI and formerly known as Nesma Trading, has landed a large hotel project awarded by the Red Sea Development company.The Southern Dunes Hotel #14 project, valued at over SAR 142 million,involves construction of the structure, façade, waterproofing and civil engineering works.

Specifically, the scope of work includes construction of sub and superstructure, solid and hollow blocks, paint, precast panels, drywall and petal structures in the Oasis Building, along with a steel roof structure system for the swimming pool.

NUI will deliver the project by June 2022.According to NUI’s commercial division general manager, Kamal Nahhas, “At NUI, we are all excited to implement our first construction project at the Red Sea attaching the highest priority towards the sustainable development goals of Saudi Vision 2030.”

The Southern Dunes Hotel and resort is part of an immense luxury tourism destination.

The new international airport and the first four hotels will be open by the end of next year,and ready to welcome guests.

By 2030, the transformed landscape will include 50 resorts, 1,300 residential properties and 22 island destinations. In total, the Red Sea project will span 28,000 km2 including canyons, dormant volcanoes and ancient cultural heritage sites.

The Red Sea destination places Saudi Arabia in a leadership position with regenerative tourism meaning that the revenue generated will be used to conserve, sustain and also enhance the outstanding local environment of coral reefs, unique wildlife and beautiful dunes.

The Industrial & Ventures Division has been awarded a new project at the Red Sea Airport by TRSDC for the supply, installation, testing & commissioning of navigational aid systems (NAVAIDs) including an instrument landing system and DVOR navigational aid.

Nesma Trading’s Landscape Division has completed the design and building of a landscape nursery for the Red Sea Development Company (RSDC). 

The nursery, located on the islands between Umluj and Al-Wajh in Saudi Arabia, spans over one million square meters and is considered the largest of its kind in the Middle East.

Nesma Trading’s Building Division was awarded Binzagr’s National Distribution Center project at King Abdullah Economic City. Nesma Trading’s scope of work in the project includes site and construction works of a low bay warehouse with 60,000 square meters and a high bay warehouse with 22,000 square meters.

Additionally, Nesma Trading’s Technical Systems Division was awarded the Integrated Security System and Access Control Project at MARAFIQ facilities in Jubail and Yanbu. Nesma Trading will work on the supply, installation, testing, integration and the commission of integrated security system and access control system for the Marafiq Jubail Sea Water Cooling Facility (SWCF) and canals project.

Nesma Catering is now officially the first catering company in Saudi Arabia, and the fourth worldwide, to achieve the FSSC 22000 certification for food safety systems. The FSSC 22000 Food Safety System provides a framework for effectively managing organizations’ food safety responsibilities. It is a recognized certification by the Global Food Safety Initiative and demonstrates that the company has a solid food safety management system that meets customers’ requirements. Receiving the FSSC 22000 certification is based on first receiving other ISO certifications, including the ISO 22000:2005 Food Safety Management Systems, ISO/TS 22002-2:2013 Prerequisite programs on food safety.

This important milestone for Nesma Catering was announced by Rock Zoghbi, QHSE Manager, who revealed that the achievement was the result of the commitment of the entire team and every member’s openness to improvements and enhancements. In particular, he expressed his thanks to the team led by Mark Alderson including Naji Khoury, Mirna Aoun, Bassem Aboul Hessen, Dany Freiha, Jim Awad, Chef Georges El-Murr, and all Nesma Catering kitchen staff.

Nesma Trading signed an agreement with the Higher Institute for Tourism & Hospitality in Jazan to train 65 Saudis.

The program aims to support the nationalization movement and the duration of the training is six months ending with employment opportunities within Nesma Catering’s ongoing projects.

The Higher Institute of Tourism and Hospitality is the first specialized institute in the field of tourism and restaurant management in Saudi Arabia.
